About the Owners
Flat Tire Diner in Old Hickory, Tennessee was founded by Tom Mead and Cheryl Mead. The duo has over 28 years of experience in the restaurant and diner industry, over four of which include the ownership and operation of The Rolling Feast. The big, red food truck offered Southwestern-inspired fare at a wide range of locations- from local events and businesses to the CMA Music Festival.
However, The Rolling Feast won't be much rolling these days as the Meads turn their focus to the diner, a permanent home for their creative takes on traditional diner dishes.
Tom Mead graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. He was the sous chef at Vasil's Euro-Grille in Denver, Colorado, specializing in European cuisine. He later became the chef de cuisine at Janos in Tucson, Arizona, specializing in French-inspired southwestern cuisine where he developed new recipes and received national and international acclaim.
